Since 1999: 27 years in IT & online

Richard Stinauer

Today I see myself as a generalist problem solver and solution provider. I take on this role as an agency head, consultant, coach and service provider. A short look back shows how it came about:

Commercial training (1993-1996)

During my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Zenner in Ottobrunn near Munich, my affinity for data capture and data processing paid off, especially when the ‘Grüner Punkt’ take-back system was introduced. As an apprentice I already handled data transfers and statistics tasks.

Marketing assistant (1996-1997)

Right after my training I gained interesting insights into product and licence marketing as a marketing assistant at Zenner's subsidiary Konzept. Sampling for Bundesliga clubs, Disney franchises and various trade fair assignments in Frankfurt, Nuremberg and Hanover rounded off my excursion into marketing.

Operating controlling (1997-1999)

After leaving my training company I worked at Automaten-Seitz in Munich-Trudering, where I was responsible for controlling and billing in vending machine operations for customers such as Deutsche Bahn, Höchst, MAN and MTU. I optimised my work processes with a database application I developed myself in Microsoft Access.

IT support (1999-2005)

Shortly before the turn of the millennium I moved to the IT department of Deutsches SportFernsehen, turning my hobby into my profession. Besides user support for the broadcaster and the production company, I also administered central software distribution and operating system rollouts for more than 700 workstations.

Web development (1999-2005)

Through IT I had full online access and dug deep into the World Wide Web. As part of my side-line self-employment since 1999 I built several websites on self-developed templates and created a web-based, hyperlocal prize draw in php/mySQL for the Gewerbeschau trade show in Ottobrunn.

Online marketing (2005 to today)

My marketing background and my affinity for online led me to online marketing. Script-generated campaigns back then gave rise to the idea of founding a technology-focused search engine marketing agency. Just under two years later we founded the agency adtraffic in Munich.
